I WAS ON THE SUPPLY BOATS IN ABERDEEN ON AND OFF FOR MANY YEARS ( 1975 -2015), BUT I DIDNT VISIT THE METRO UNTIL 1996, BEFORE GOING IN THERE IHAD A FEW BEERS IN THE ST ANDREWS IN MARKET STREET. wHILST SUPPING I ASKED A FELLOW DRINKER WHAT THE METRO WAS LIKE. HIS REPLY WAS STRAIGHTFORWARD, IN A BROAD ABERDONIAN TWANG HE TOLD ME THAT IF I DID NOT SCORE IN THE METRO, THEN IT WAS TIME TO GIVE UP!
IT MUST HAVE BEEN GONE TEN PM WHEN I CLIMBED THE STAIRS TO THE DANCE HALL, IT WAS VIBRANT IN THE EXTREME AND QUITE PACKED WITH MERRYMAKERS. I THOROUGHLY ENJOYED THE ATMOSPHERE OF THE PLACE, THE PEOPLE WERE AGED FROM SIXTEEN TO SEVENTY PLUS. i DANCED A FEW TIMES WITH A LADY FROM TILLYDRONE, AT ONE AM SHE INVITED ME TO HER HOME FOR A COFFEE! THE EVENTS THAT FOLLOWED ARE OF COURSE BETWEEN ME AND HER!.
